Muddy Water

It’s muddy water every day
No rum we’ll ever see
I scarecely think we will get a little drink
Until we get to Wallasea, me boys
Get to Wallasea

When I was a younger lad
As handsome as could be
I said goodbye to me ma and me pa
And away I went to sea, me boys
Away I went to sea

The cook he is an Irishman
We call him Donnigal Pat
Everything he cooks for us
Is covered in bacon fat, me boys
Covered in bacon fat

The quality of the Mercy boys
It is no good at all
It’s full of rats and old dead cats
and it smells like paraffin oil, me boys
Smells like paraffin oil
